Frequently Asked Questions
Which DCT cold plunge tubs is this chiller compatible with?
The DCT-SV-08DO3-34 is compatible with all three DCT cold plunge tubs sold by Aurevian Wellness: the DCT-S-050-NS-34 stainless rectangular tub, the DCT-B-042-SSPC-34 stainless barrel, and the DCT-B-042-PLPC-34 polymer barrel. All three tubs come with pre-installed hose connections that match the chiller's quick-connect fittings. No modification to the tub is required.
How long does it take to cool the water to target temperature?
The chiller cools at approximately 1–3°F per 30 minutes, depending on the starting water temperature, ambient air temperature, and tub volume. A barrel tub filled with room-temperature water (roughly 70°F) will typically reach 50°F in 4–6 hours and may require 8–10 hours to reach 37°F in warm ambient conditions. Pre-cooling overnight or scheduling via the app ahead of your session is recommended.
What does the ozone sanitation system do?
The built-in ozone generator produces a small amount of ozone gas, which dissolves into the water and kills bacteria, viruses, and organic contaminants. This allows water to remain clean for longer between full water changes — typically 2–4 weeks with regular ozone cycling and the two-stage filter in place. Ozone is a chemical-free sanitation method. The system runs automatically on a schedule managed through the app or the touch screen.
Can I control the chiller remotely?
Yes. The Premier Edition includes WiFi connectivity and a dedicated mobile app. From the app, you can set and adjust the target temperature, view the current water temperature, schedule cooling cycles (for example, pre-cooling before your morning session), and monitor filter status. The app connects over your home WiFi network — no hub or additional hardware is required.
Can the chiller also heat the water?
Yes. The temperature range is 37°F to 85°F, and the chiller can both cool and heat. The heating function can be used for a warm soak, or to warm the water between cold sessions. Contrast therapy protocols — alternating between hot and cold sessions — typically use the sauna for heat rather than the chiller's heating function, but the capability is available.
What are the electrical and installation requirements?
The chiller requires a standard 120V GFCI-protected outlet within reach of the tub. A GFCI outlet is required by electrical code for any appliance used near water — if you do not have a GFCI outlet in your installation area, a licensed electrician can add one. No 240V wiring is required. The chiller ships via FedEx or UPS Ground and does not require freight delivery or special installation.
What does the warranty cover?
The chiller carries a 1-year manufacturer warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship. Filter replacements are a consumable and are not covered under warranty. Contact Aurevian Wellness for warranty support.
