Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between FAR, MID, and NIR infrared?
FAR infrared (FIR) operates at longer wavelengths and is responsible for the deep, penetrating warmth associated with infrared sauna use. MID infrared (MIR) wavelengths penetrate at an intermediate depth. Near infrared (NIR) operates at shorter wavelengths closer to visible light and targets the uppermost tissue layers. Full spectrum panels emit all three wavelengths simultaneously. FAR-only panels emit FIR wavelengths only. The Reserve 8000 is a full spectrum sauna.
What does Near Zero EMF mean and why does it matter?
EMF (electromagnetic field) emissions are measured in milligauss (MG). Golden Designs classifies its panels in three tiers: Low EMF (5–10 MG), Ultra Low EMF (3–5 MG), and Near Zero EMF (under 3 MG). The Reserve 8000 uses PureTech™ Near Zero EMF panels, which measure under 3 milligauss at 2–3 inches from the panel surface — the highest EMF-reduction standard in the lineup.
What electrical requirements does this sauna have?
The Reserve 8000 2-person requires a dedicated 120V / 15A circuit. "Dedicated" means the circuit is not shared with other appliances. Most homes have available 15A circuits. If you are unsure whether your panel has capacity, a licensed electrician can confirm in a brief visit. No 240V wiring is required.
What are the room requirements for installation?
Beyond the footprint (47" W × 41" D interior, plus the door adding 5" of additional depth when open), allow clearance on all sides for air circulation and access. The ceiling should be at least 80" high — slightly above the sauna's 75" interior height — to allow for the top panel and assembly. The sauna should be placed on a flat, level floor capable of supporting 350 lbs.
What does the Himalayan salt bar do?
The included Himalayan salt bar sits inside the sauna and heats alongside the infrared panels. As it warms, it releases negative ions into the air. This is a sensory and atmospheric addition to the session experience. It does not alter the temperature or infrared output of the panels.
How is the sauna delivered and what does assembly involve?
The Reserve 8000 2-person ships via LTL freight on a pallet in two cartons and is delivered curbside. Two adults can complete assembly using the included instructions and standard hand tools. Professional installation is not required. Inside delivery is not included in standard freight but may be available at additional cost through your carrier.
What does the warranty cover?
The Reserve 8000 carries a 5-year manufacturer warranty covering the structure and heating elements. Electronics and accessories are covered under separate manufacturer terms. Contact Aurevian Wellness for warranty support.
