Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Carinthia built to withstand outdoor conditions year-round?
Yes. The Carinthia is constructed from weather-treated Canadian hemlock and is designed for permanent outdoor placement. The structure is built to handle seasonal temperature variation, rain, and UV exposure. As with any outdoor wood structure, periodic maintenance — such as applying an exterior wood sealant — will extend the life of the finish and protect the wood grain over time.
Can I use both heating modes at the same time?
No. The infrared panels and the traditional stove operate independently and cannot run simultaneously. You select one mode per session. Infrared is typically preferred for lower-temperature radiant sessions; the traditional stove is used when high-heat, high-humidity Finnish steam is the goal.
What foundation does the Carinthia require?
The Carinthia requires a flat, level, stable surface capable of supporting approximately 750 lbs plus occupants. A concrete pad, compacted gravel base, or composite deck rated for the load are all common options. The structure should not be placed on grass, soil, or uneven ground. We recommend consulting a local contractor if you are preparing a new pad for this installation.
What are the electrical requirements?
The infrared system requires a dedicated 120V / 20A circuit. The traditional stove requires a separate dedicated 240V circuit. If you plan to use both heating modes, both circuits must be installed. The 240V stove circuit must be installed by a licensed electrician. The infrared circuit is a standard household amperage but should still be on a dedicated breaker.
Does the covered porch area provide meaningful shelter?
Yes. The Carinthia includes a covered exterior porch section that provides protection from direct rain and sun during entry and exit. It also creates a natural transition space for hot-cold contrast use — a useful feature when pairing with an outdoor cold plunge. The porch is not a fully enclosed weatherproof room.
How is the Carinthia delivered and assembled?
The Carinthia ships via LTL freight on a pallet and is delivered curbside at approximately 750 lbs. Inside delivery is not included in standard freight but may be arranged at additional cost with your carrier. Structural assembly requires two or more adults and standard hand tools. The 240V stove circuit must be completed by a licensed electrician prior to using the traditional stove.
What does the warranty cover?
The Carinthia carries a 5-year manufacturer warranty on the structure and heating elements, including both the infrared panels and the traditional stove. Contact Aurevian Wellness for warranty support and service coordination.
